The BLACK Collaborative Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Stephanie Bolden as the newest Board Member and Director of Cardiovascular Health. With more than 25 years of nursing experience, Dr. Bolden brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, academic leadership, and a strong dedication to health equity. Her role will be vital in advancing the organization’s mission to improve the health and well-being of Black birthing persons and families.

Dr. Stephanie Bolden’s Role and Responsibilities
Dr. Bolden will provide clinical guidance and oversight for cardiovascular health initiatives within the organization. Her work will focus on:
Offering evidence-based direction to improve cardiovascular health programs
Supporting cardiovascular risk screening and education across various initiatives
Strengthening referral pathways for individuals at high risk of cardiovascular issues
Advising on how to integrate cardiac wellness into maternal-infant health equity programs
Serving as a voting member of the Board and co-leading community health strategies
Her leadership will ensure that cardiovascular health remains a priority in the organization’s efforts to support Black families.
A Career Dedicated to Nursing and Health Equity
Dr. Bolden’s career spans clinical practice, academic instruction, and health promotion. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with a Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Chamberlain University. Additionally, she earned a Master’s in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati.
As an Assistant Professor of Nursing and a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), Dr. Bolden combines clinical skills with a passion for educating future nurses. Her credentials as a Certified Personal Trainer, Nutritionist, and Health & Wellness Educator highlight her holistic approach to patient care and wellness coaching.
Impact on Cardiovascular Health Initiatives
Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of death among Black communities, especially affecting maternal health outcomes. Dr. Bolden’s expertise will help the BLACK Collaborative Inc. address these challenges by:
Developing targeted cardiovascular health programs tailored to the needs of Black birthing persons
Enhancing education efforts to raise awareness about cardiovascular risks and prevention
Creating stronger connections between healthcare providers and community resources for timely referrals
Promoting heart health as a key component of maternal and infant wellness

Dr. Bolden will also play a key role in shaping community health strategies as a voting member of the Board. Her experience in both clinical and academic settings equips her to:

Providing wellness coaching that addresses mental, emotional, and physical health
