Scope of Practice

a professional breastfeeding support counselor who has demonstrated the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities to provide breastfeeding education and management support 
- 
demonstrates continuous clinical competencies and skills required to provide safe, evidence-based counseling for pregnant, lactating, and breastfeeding families

Code of Ethics
- 
Provide to all persons reliable and accurate information concerning the professional performance of duties 
- 
Be attentive to the group discussions and listen respectfully without interrupting conversations. 
- 
Maintain the highest standards of personal conduct practicing within the legal constraints of the individual’s scope of practice to bring credit to the lactation field 
- 
Promote and encourage the highest level of ethics within the profession.

Violation of protocols, abuse, or neglect
- 
Suspicion of misconduct or violation of protocols by any volunteer or employee of the B.R.E.A.S.T.4 Babes, Inc. 
- 
Suspicion of mistreatment, neglect, or abuse of any infant, child, or parent attending B.R.E.A.S.T.4 Babes, Inc.
