  • Everything from Tier 1

  • Latch & positioning assessment related to breastfeeding

  • Specializing in full-term infants (38 weeks -42 weeks) & otherwise healthy newborns and mother

Tier3- International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant

IBCLC

  • Everything from Tier 1 & 2

  • Maternal assessment (Medical & Physical assessments)

  • Infant assessment (Medical & Oral- Suck assessments)

  • Developing and implementing feeding plans & Evaluations

  • Feeding complications include by not limited to: tongue or lip tie, ineffective milk transfer, short/ inverted nipples, breast surgeries (reductions, augmentation, abscess, biopsy, est.) late pre-term infants (35 weeks- 37 weeks), NICU

  • Health assessments include but not limited to (gestational) diabetes, hypertension, cancer, hepatitis B or C, PCOS, h/o mastitis, high risk pregnancy/ newborn

  • Evidence-based information regarding a mother’s use, during lactation, of medications, alcohol, tobacco and street drugs
